Hey thanks for checking out my senior portraits section! My name is Jim and I specialize in non traditional and modern Portland senior portraits.

I believe creativity and energy is the key to getting your senior photos to pop and wow people and I really want you to have fun and enjoy getting your senior pictures taken. I am known to use humor to break the ice and I try to keep things as relaxed and fun as possible.

I love taking pictures that make people smile or laugh when they hold the photo in their hands. I am always open to new photography ideas and I am willing to try any idea you might have to get the right shot for your perfect senior portrait.

This is my couples and family portrait section. I specialize in modern and low light portraits in the Portland and surrounding areas.

I like to challenge myself to stay away from traditional poses to make the pictures more interesting. Couples portraits and especially family portraits can be tricky depending on the time of day and shadows that the sun is giving. I like to take portraits in the evening right about the time that the sun goes down. This always gives the effect of having a vivid blue sky, while the picture still seems light outside.

Animals : Portland Pet Photographer
When I am not photographing weddings, I am usually with my dog Molly. She is the yellow lab in the picture with the wolf mix and the gray background. Animal portraits are a lot of fun for me. It takes creativity to get animals to do what you want for animal photography. Here's a trick you might not know: taping a bone or obvious food item to the camera lens hood will get most cats, dogs and birds to look at me when I photograph them.
